What day and time do students need to arrive?
- The beginning and ending event dates are both travel and limited instructional days.
- The time required, based on your travel distance, will dictate if you will need additional travel days.
- Airline travel is always an unknown variable, but make sure to include any necessary drive time from your arrival airport to the event location. Additionally, remember the necessary drive time to sufficiently meet the required check in time for your departure.

- A list of registered students will be given to the hotel staff prior to the beginning of the event.

- An open mind, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
- Any 'supplies' or 'resources' that will help the student learn and rest. Examples: preferred type of pen, pencil, Post-it Flags, highlighter, pillow, blanket, notebook, snack food, and/or energy drink. What does the student usually need or use when studying and learning at home; or when reviewing contract language and writing grievances when at work or the local union.
- Clothing for the event is business casual to casual. Polo shirts, T-shirts, and shorts are welcome. Be aware the indoor spaces are air conditioned so bring a light jacket, sweater, or parka if you get cold easily. All clothing must be free from offensive language or images.
- Comfortable Walking shoes are suggested as you will need to walk a short distance (less than a mile) depending upon your choice of food for dinner (on your own dime) and you will likely want to get some fresh air and enjoy conversing with other students outside.

- The planning committee meets in January to begin planning for that year's PLUSS event. In recent years, the COVID-19 situation and resulting restrictions have caused multiple postponements and cancellations.
- Many factors must be considered including state, county, and university policies.
- The safety and health of all participants, instructors, and other persons involved in the event are our first priority.

- Due to the situational unpredictability of the pandemic in the months ahead:
- We must remain calm, optimistic, and continue to plan for the future - as best we can.

- We realize the fluidity of the COVID-19 situation, but we are committed to a percentage of hotel and food reservations.
- 15 days before the event start date we cannot issue any refunds.
- If we receive an emailed refund request within the following number of days prior to the event start date:
- 15 to 0 days - No refund, but you can substitute another student at no additional cost.
- 30 to 16 days - 50% refund, substitute a student, or carryover for the next PLUSS event.
- Before 31 days - 100% refund, substitute a student, or carryover for the next PLUSS event.

- Reply to both your Part A and Part B registration confirmation emails to submit a refund request.
- Submitted requests are not valid until you receive a reply confirming we received your emailed request.

- Highly dependent on the work status of West Virginia University employees.
- Expect 30 to 45 days on a normal basis.
- Expect more than 45 days, possibly months, if COVID-19 quarantines and possibly furloughs are in effect.
